Oliver Borrmann is a new member of the advisory board and replaces his colleague Dr. Maren Gerasch, who is taking her well-deserved retirement. At the same time, Björn Schlömer from Henkel AG & Co. KGaA will be appointed to the advisory board. Klaus Wohnig, who has been a member of the committee since last year, took over its chairmanship at the last meeting.

Oliver Borrmann is the founder and managing partner of bmp Ventures AG. During his 27 years at bmp, he supported over 250 startups and also has experience from over 130 trade sales and IPOs. After completing his studies in economics at the HSG University of St. Gallen, Oliver started his professional career as a management consultant in Munich and then founded bmp Management Consultants GmbH in 1992 and bmp Ventures AG in Berlin in 1997. bmp Ventures manages, among other things, the IBG venture capital funds of the state of Saxony-Anhalt with a volume of over EUR 160 million and currently 45 innovative technology companies in the portfolio.

Björn Schlömer is Commercial Financial Director Packaging Global in the Adhesive Technologies division of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA. After VWA training at BASF Coatings AG, he studied business administration in Bamberg and Barcelona. He has been employed at Henkel AG & Co. KGaA since 2007 and has gained many years of management experience at home and abroad in various positions with a focus on packaging adhesives. Since 2019, he has been responsible for the commercial financial management of the global strategic Packaging business unit of the Adhesive Technologies division of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA.

Klaus Wohnig is the founder and managing partner of Atmedio GmbH, a network of independent experts who advise stakeholders in the private sector as well as public institutions and organizations on all strategic and operational issues relating to the circular economy and the sustainable plastics industry. After commercial training at Siemens AG and business studies in Frankfurt, Ingolstadt and Vienna, he gained many years of experience in management positions in internationally active industrial companies in various sectors, most recently since 2012 as CEO of APK AG, a leading technology provider for the circular economy for plastics . In addition, Mr. Wohnig is a board member of the German recycling and waste disposal associations BDE and BVSE and is active in various relevant initiatives and organizations.

“Saperatec is in the process of scaling its proprietary recycling technology internationally and is in an exciting transformation phase where the next steps will be crucial to the company’s long-term success,” says Thorsten Hornung, CEO of Saperatec. “Oliver Borrmann is an expert in successfully supporting young technology companies on their way into the market and Mr. Schlömer was able to gain many years of experience in the packaging industry. Klaus Wohnig has extensive international management experience and an excellent industry network, from which Saperatec and its management can benefit greatly in order to successfully take the next steps. At the same time, we would like to thank our previous chairman of the advisory board, Bernd Arkenau, for his many years of active support and are pleased that he will continue to be a member of the advisory board. And we would like to thank Dr. Maren Gerasch for the always good cooperation and wish her all the best for the future.”

“We are very much looking forward to being able to break new ground in the circular economy with the Saperatec team and to use innovative technology to enable a closed loop even for packaging that is difficult to recycle,” say the new advisory board members. “Saperatec and its technology are ripe for expansion and the world needs modern solutions to turn plastic waste into valuable materials that can then be turned into products again.”
