Growth in Saxony-Anhalt: TESVOLT Opens One of Europe’s Most Advanced High-Tech Logistics Centers

Wittenberg, August 28, 2026 – TESVOLT AG today officially inaugurated its new logistics and technology center at the company’s headquarters in Lutherstadt Wittenberg, in the presence of Saxony-Anhalt’s Deputy Minister-President Armin Willingmann. With an investment of €23 million, the new facility represents one of the largest investments in the company’s history. It increases TESVOLT’s logistics capacity tenfold while also expanding its capacity for the system integration of battery storage systems. This provides TESVOLT with the infrastructure it needs to meet growing demand in the European market.

Investment in the Location

The new facility at TESVOLT’s headquarters in Wittenberg has a total usable floor area of more than 6,500 square meters and was funded by the state of Saxony-Anhalt with approximately €5 million from the Joint Task “Improvement of Regional Economic Structures” (GRW) program. The site will gradually provide capacity for up to 110 highly skilled jobs, including 68 positions in battery storage system integration and 42 modern office positions.

Increased Storage Capacity, Secure Supply Chains

At the heart of the new center is a fully automated high-bay warehouse measuring 72 meters in length, 18 meters in width, and 27 meters in height, with capacity for 4,500 pallets. It is specifically designed to meet the safety requirements for storing batteries and hazardous materials. Fully automated operations are handled by two automated storage and retrieval systems and state-of-the-art conveyor technology across two levels. Automatic weighing and laser measurement enable the digital, real-time tracking of material flows.
The significantly increased storage capacity allows TESVOLT to maintain sufficient material inventories in advance, helping to ensure short delivery times even in the event of disruptions in international markets.

Battery Storage Systems from Wittenberg for Europe

The new building complex also brings together TESVOLT’s final assembly and software refinement operations for its battery storage systems. Operating in two shifts, the facility is designed for an annual capacity of up to 4 gigawatt-hours, equivalent to the production of up to 80,000 industrial storage systems per year.
“We source the most efficient and technologically advanced storage hardware from around the world. But the software brain – and therefore also the cybersecurity of our systems – is developed entirely here in Germany,” says Schandert.

Greener and Safer Operations

The new center is supplied with climate-friendly electricity and heat. A photovoltaic system with a capacity of approximately 292 kWp, together with 16 small wind turbines installed on the roof, generates renewable electricity. TESVOLT battery storage systems increase the facility’s self-consumption of solar power. Air-to-water heat pumps with heat recovery from the high-bay warehouse are used to supply heat.
The building also meets high safety standards for fire protection. It features a modern sprinkler system, automatic fire suppression systems at the storage locations, and an integrated firewater retention system to protect groundwater.
