Sometimes everything just falls into place: On September 18, 2025, we celebrated our Portfolio Day at a very special location—the Bauhaus Dessau, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

With over 100 guests from our portfolio, our network, and the startup scene, we had two reasons to celebrate: 10 years of managing the IBG funds and a day full of encounters, inspiration, and energy.

Program & Highlights:

We started with an interactive AI workshop led by Kay Iversen , followed by impressive tours of the historic Bauhaus building. The enthusiasm was palpable even at this early stage, with many guests drawing inspiration from the unique atmosphere of the location.

In the late afternoon, we gathered in the auditorium, where exciting presentations were on the agenda:

  • Welcome by Ywes Israel, Principal at bmp Ventures
  • “100 Years of Bauhaus” with Dr. Werner Möller, Stiftung Bauhaus Dessau
  • Welcome by Klaus-Henning Damm, Ministry of Economics, Tourism, Agriculture, and Forestry
  • Review of 10 years of management of the IBG funds by Oliver Borrmann, Managing Partner at bmp Ventures

A special highlight were the contributions from our portfolio companies:
Benjamin Horn, CEO of Smela, Michéle Tille CEO of Cynio and Maik Burlage CEO of Wingfield provided exciting insights into their entrepreneurial journeys – honest, direct, and inspiring.

Conclusion:

The day transitioned into evening with a buffet and a relaxed atmosphere. There was discussion, laughter, and celebration—but above all, one thing became clear: our Portfolio Day is more than just an event. It is a place where ideas grow, connections are made, and joint ventures begin.

A heartfelt thank you to all guests, speakers, and partners who made this day so special.
